My 6 year old ASD kid also struggles with speech but loves drawing, doodling, and writing things on paper. I can see that RPM could be an effective method to increase his communication. He has great functional language but poor receptive language and communication skills. We as parents have been focussing so much on getting him to “use his words”, verbalize, and expand his vocabulary. Your blog post just helped me gain a fresh perspective. It is about communication more than speech. Congratulations on how far you have come!
